VOTING & REVIEW POLICY

Community votes and ratings are a trust signal — nothing more. These are the rules that keep that signal honest.

Last updated 2026-08-01 Version v2.0
Scope: This document applies only to app.keydir.in and its related services.
A vote is not a review and not a verdict. It is one community member's one-click signal. The purpose of voting is to surface useful listings, not to put any business on trial.

SECTION_01 What Votes Are

Votes are lightweight, user-generated signals attached to listings. They help the community quickly see which vendors, builders, and products other members have found useful. Votes have no effect on directory ranking for money — nothing on KEYDIR is ranked or paid for. See the Listing Policy for how listings are ordered.

SECTION_02 Who Can Vote

  • Any registered user of the app may vote, subject to account verification requirements.
  • One person, one vote per item. Creating multiple accounts to vote more than once is prohibited.
  • You may not vote on a listing you own or that you operate. Vendors and builders must not vote on their own listings.
  • You may not vote on behalf of someone else or coordinate vote campaigns on listings you are associated with.

SECTION_03 What Can Be Voted On

Voting is limited to the items explicitly enabled for it in the app, such as vendor, builder, and product listings. Votes are only meaningful for items that have been publicly listed and verified.

SECTION_04 How Votes Are Displayed

  • Aggregate vote totals and/or a simple rating may be shown on listing pages.
  • Votes are displayed in aggregate only — individual voter identities are not public.
  • Vote counts are always presented as community sentiment, not as an official quality assessment.
  • Low vote counts carry low confidence and are labeled accordingly where feasible.

SECTION_05 Vote Integrity

The following are prohibited and will be treated as violations of the Acceptable Use Policy:

Vote buying, selling, trading, or exchanging votes for anything of value.
Vote brigading — coordinated mass voting, on either side, from a person with a stake in the outcome.
Using multiple accounts or automated tools to manipulate vote totals.
Threatening to mass-downvote a listing unless demands are met.
Voting without a genuine basis — e.g. voting on listings you have never used or interacted with.

We may remove suspect votes, flag listings, or restrict accounts where manipulation is detected. Votes are verified against platform rules before being counted, and suspect patterns are investigated.

SECTION_06 Reviews

Written reviews (where offered) are subject to the same integrity rules as votes, plus these:

  • Reviews must be about your genuine experience. Fabricated reviews are prohibited.
  • Vendors may respond to reviews of their own business; they may not post reviews of it.
  • Do not post reviews that reveal personal data about other individuals.
  • Review content that violates the Community Guidelines may be removed.

SECTION_07 Removal & Appeals

A listing owner who believes votes or reviews on their listing are fraudulent may request a review through the Contact page. We will investigate and remove votes that demonstrably violate this policy. Where there is doubt, we err on the side of keeping genuine community signals intact.

SECTION_08 Contact

Questions about this policy or reports of vote manipulation should be sent via the Contact page or email officialkeydir.in@gmail.com.
