COMMUNITY GUIDELINES

The KeyDir community shares what it knows. These are the expectations that keep that sharing useful and respectful.

Last updated 2026-08-01 Version v2.0
Scope: This document applies to activity on app.keydir.in, its official community channels, and any spaces KeyDir operates.
These guidelines apply everywhere the KeyDir Application operates: listing pages, reviews, votes, account features, and official community channels. They are the code of conduct for our corner of the keeb world.

SECTION_01 Our Shared Expectations

Everyone who uses the KeyDir Application — visitors, vendors, builders, and contributors — is expected to treat others the way they would want to be treated. If a specific rule matters more than another, it is this one: disagree without being disagreeable.

SECTION_02 Be Kind

  • Assume good faith. Most people are trying to help, even when they get it wrong.
  • No harassment, threats, bullying, doxxing, or targeted abuse of any person or business.
  • No hateful or discriminatory language based on race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, or disability.
  • No personal attacks. Critique the information, not the person who provided it.

SECTION_03 Be Honest

  • Do not post false, misleading, or exaggerated information about vendors, builders, products, or people.
  • Do not submit fake reviews, ratings, or votes.
  • Do not impersonate vendors, community members, or KeyDir staff.
  • If you have a stake in something you recommend — your own shop, a friend's store — say so. Transparency beats suspicion. See the Affiliate Disclosure.

SECTION_04 Be Constructive

  • Feedback should be specific and actionable: what happened, when, and why it matters.
  • Warnings about a bad experience are valuable. Vendors deserve the chance to respond and correct course.
  • Before reporting an error, consider submitting a correction so the whole community benefits.

SECTION_05 Respect Privacy

  • Do not share personal information about any individual without their consent.
  • Do not publish private contact details, addresses, or order information.
  • Respect the privacy policy — the data we collect is limited and documented in the Privacy Policy.

SECTION_06 No Spam or Self-Promotion

  • Do not use the platform's channels to run ads, affiliate promotions, or repeated unsolicited promotion of your own products.
  • Listing your own business is fine — doing it through the proper listing process, transparently, is how it's done. See the Listing Policy.
  • Do not post the same content repeatedly across channels.

SECTION_07 Contributor Etiquette

  • Submit corrections and additions through the official channels — the Contact page and platform submission forms.
  • Search before you post — the answer you need may already exist.
  • One issue per problem, with a clear description and reproducible detail.
  • Be patient with the team. Requests are handled in order and in good faith.

SECTION_08 Enforcement

When a guideline is broken, KeyDir will act in proportion to the violation:

SeverityExampleTypical response
MinorOff-topic comment, mild tone issueWarning; content may be removed
ModerateRepeated spam, misleading listingContent removed; listing flagged or delisted; temporary restrictions
SevereHarassment, doxxing, fraud, illegal contentContent removed; account or listing terminated; relevant authorities notified where required

If you believe an enforcement decision was wrong, you may appeal via the Contact page.

SECTION_09 Reporting

If you see a violation, report it using the Report Abuse page. Please include specifics — what happened, where, and when. Reports are reviewed by KeyDir; genuine abuse reports are acted on.

Retaliation against someone for reporting a violation in good faith is itself a violation.
