ACCEPTABLE USE

The explicit list of what you may not do on the KeyDir Application, and what happens if you do. It's a short list — but it is enforced.

Last updated 2026-08-01 Version v2.0
Scope: This document applies only to app.keydir.in and its related services.
This policy defines what you may not do. It supplements — and is incorporated into — the Terms of Service. A violation of this policy is a violation of the Terms.

SECTION_01 Purpose

The KeyDir Application depends on data being accurate, impartial, and available to everyone who uses it. This policy exists to protect those three properties. The rules below apply to all users, vendors, builders, brands, and automated agents.

SECTION_02 Prohibited Conduct

You may not use the platform to:

Harass or threaten any person or business, including doxxing, stalking, or targeted abuse.
Impersonate any person, vendor, brand, or KeyDir staff.
Post fraudulent, defamatory, or knowingly false listings, reviews, or votes.
Spam or mass-post content, or operate bot accounts.
Circumvent restrictions by creating multiple accounts, evading bans, or manipulating votes.
Use the platform for illegal activity or to facilitate it.
Commercially exploit the platform or its data without permission.

SECTION_03 Automated Access & Scraping

Aggressive automated access harms the platform for everyone who uses it.

  • Do not scrape the directory at volumes that interfere with normal use.
  • Do not attempt to access content through undocumented means or beyond standard browsing.
  • Do not resell, republish, or repackage scraped data without prior written permission.

Light, infrequent, respectful access for personal research is acceptable. If you want to build on the data, ask first. Developer access to platform data is governed by the API Terms.

SECTION_04 Data & Content Integrity

  • Do not submit listing data you know to be wrong, including to harm a competitor.
  • Do not delete, alter, or obfuscate the work of other users.
  • Do not use votes or ratings to artificially inflate or deflate any listing.
  • Do not post content that infringes anyone's copyright — see the DMCA page.

SECTION_05 Legal & Illegal Activity

You may not use the platform in violation of any applicable law, including laws relating to fraud, harassment, intellectual property, and consumer protection. Where we become aware of clearly illegal activity, we may report it to the appropriate authorities.

SECTION_06 Security Interference

You may not attempt to compromise, disrupt, or degrade the platform or its hosting infrastructure. This includes injection attacks, denial-of-service, and probing beyond reasonable testing. Security researchers acting in good faith should use the Responsible Disclosure process instead.

SECTION_07 Enforcement

Violations are handled proportionately and at KeyDir's discretion. Possible measures include:

  • Removal of content, listings, votes, or reviews.
  • Warning issued to the responsible person.
  • Restriction or termination of access, accounts, or listings — see the Account Suspension Policy.
  • Referral to authorities where the conduct appears illegal.

We may act without prior notice where a violation is severe or ongoing. You may appeal enforcement decisions via the Contact page.

SECTION_08 Reporting Violations

To report a violation of this policy, use the Report Abuse page. Provide as much detail as possible — the listing or content in question, what rule was broken, and any evidence. Reports are reviewed by KeyDir.
