Short version: application code and content are owned by KeyDir and licensed for the use described on this page. Directory data is available for non-commercial reference with attribution. Brand assets and third-party content belong to their respective owners.

SECTION_01 Overview

The KeyDir Application, its documentation, and the directory data it presents are operated by KeyDir. Different parts of the platform are subject to different terms, described below.

SECTION_02 Application License

The application codebase and design system are the property of KeyDir and are made available under the terms described in the repository's LICENSE file. In general:

✓Use the application for its intended purpose as a user of app.keydir.in.
✓Reference the platform in your own writing, with attribution.
✗Copy, resell, or redistribute the application, its code, or its data as a competing product.
✗Use the KeyDir name or branding to imply an endorsement or affiliation.

Where the application uses third-party open-source libraries, those libraries remain under their own licenses.

SECTION_03 Directory Data

Directory data (vendor lists, builder listings, brand entries, product information, and related factual information) is made available through the application for non-commercial reference use with attribution. "Attribution" means a visible credit reading "Data sourced from KeyDir (keydir.in)" with a link, in any public-facing use of the data.

Scraping and reselling the data for commercial purposes is prohibited without prior written permission. See the Acceptable Use Policy.

SECTION_04 Documentation & Content

Original written content of the platform — including these documents and application copy — is owned by KeyDir. You may quote short excerpts with attribution. Republishing documents in full, or adapting them into competing legal documents, is not permitted without permission.

SECTION_05 Trademarks

The names "KeyDir", "KeyDir Application", "KeyDir Platform", "KEYDIR", and "KEYDIR.in", the keyboard logo, and the distinctive visual identity are marks owned by KeyDir. This license does not grant any trademark rights. You may not register, use, or claim these marks in a way that could confuse users about the source or endorsement of any project, product, or service.

SECTION_06 Third-Party Assets

The platform references vendor, brand, and builder names, logos, and product images. These assets are the property of their respective owners and are used for identification purposes only. Their inclusion does not transfer any rights to KeyDir or to users.

Fonts, icons, and libraries used in the application are subject to their own licenses, which are documented in the repository where applicable.

SECTION_07 User Content Licensing

By submitting content to the platform — listings, reviews, votes, corrections, or profile information — you agree that:

  • You grant KeyDir a perpetual, irrevocable, worldwide, royalty-free right to use, display, modify, and distribute your content as part of the platform.
  • You confirm you have the rights to contribute what you submit.
  • Your content becomes part of the public platform record and may be retained for archival and security purposes.
