SECTION_01 Why Accounts Are Restricted
Accounts are restricted for violations of the Terms of Service, the Acceptable Use Policy, the Community Guidelines, or for behavior that otherwise harms the platform or its users — including fraud, harassment, and manipulation.
SECTION_02 Levels of Action
| Level | Typical trigger | Effect |
|---|---|---|
| Warning | Minor first-time violations | Notice only; no loss of access |
| Content removal | Listing, review, or vote violations | Specific content removed; account remains active |
| Temporary restriction | Repeated or moderate violations | Limited or suspended access for a set period |
| Termination | Severe or persistent violations | Account closed; access revoked |
SECTION_03 Before a Restriction
Where reasonable, the platform issues a warning or removes content before restricting an account, and explains what rule was broken. This is not a right — the platform may move straight to a restriction where the violation is clear or repeated.
SECTION_04 Immediate Suspension
Accounts may be suspended immediately, without prior warning, for:
- Fraud, including collecting payment and failing to deliver.
- Impersonation of KeyDir or of another person or business.
- Harassment, doxxing, or credible threats.
- Security attacks against the platform.
- Illegal activity.
SECTION_05 Notification
The account holder is notified of a suspension or termination, including the reason and the basis under the relevant policy, using the contact details on the account. In cases referred to authorities, details may be withheld.
SECTION_06 Appeals
- Reply to the suspension notice, or use the Contact page, within 30 days.
- Explain what happened and provide any evidence that the decision was wrong.
- KeyDir reviews the appeal and responds with a decision, usually within a week.
- Where appropriate, access is restored or the restriction is reduced.
Abusive, repetitive, or clearly unfounded appeals may be declined without further review.
SECTION_07 Evading Suspension
Creating a new account to evade a suspension or termination is itself a violation and may result in the new account being removed without notice.
